Sarah Owen

Sarah Owen is the Director of Advancement Events at Gulfshore Playhouse, where she oversees the theatre’s signature fundraising initiatives, including the annual Gala, widely regarded as one of Naples’ most anticipated and prestigious philanthropic events. She plays a key role in generating support for the Annual Fund for Artistic Excellence and the Capital Campaign, which have helped bring to life the stunning new Gulfshore Playhouse Baker Theatre and Education Center, a transformational cultural landmark in Naples. This state-of-the-art venue has elevated the region’s arts landscape, expanding access to world-class productions, innovative new works, and educational opportunities that inspire audiences of all ages.

Over the past 14 years, Sarah has played a pivotal role in fundraising efforts for Gulfshore Playhouse, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), collectively helping to raise more than $78 million. In 2024, she was recognized as one of Gulfshore Business’ 40 Under 40 honorees. Her previous achievements include receiving JDRF’s National Mission Award for raising $1 million through the annual Gala and Golf Tournament in 2013, as well as leading a 72% increase in granting at Susan G. Komen after joining the organization in 2015.

Sarah’s passion for philanthropy and advocacy is deeply personal. Following her nephew’s diagnosis with type one diabetes in 2009, she and her family became active supporters of JDRF, participating in walks and community fundraisers that continue to drive her commitment to making an impact.

A graduate of Lynn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sarah is married to her high school sweetheart, Steven, a former Detective with the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, and now owner of Fort Myers Metal Lab. Together, they enjoy scuba diving, traveling, and attending concerts.
